Super modern and minimal, the Sadie Collection was designed by Joey Ruiter and launched in 2014. This mixed material modern seating collection effortlessly marries Ruiter’s passion for minimalism with his pursuit of functionality. Since its launch, this chair has been used in restaurants across North America, from independent restaurants and cafes, to large chains, like Burger King and even more recently, White Castle (pics coming soon).

Whether you’re attracted to the classic black and natural wood combination or you’ve got an appetite for bold colors, Sadie’s streamlined frame and iconic silhouette holds her own with any color combination, making her a true chameleon of style. Here are four of our favorite Sadie installations to date:

1. The Grove and Lola Savannah Coffee Lounge

The Grove and Lola Savannah Coffee Lounge is a sophisticated wine bar and coffee lounge located in the heart of Cedar Park, Texas, just outside of Austin. From the jewel-toned fabric to the walls flanked in a kaleidoscope of colorful wine bottles, the interior is beautifully executed. This is the fourth location for the Texas micro-chain and has quickly garnered a cult-like following in the area. Design Hound gave our Sadie Chairs and Barstools an upscale industrial treatment by using our clear coated metal finish that shows off the welds and natural discoloration of the steel frame with a driftwood colored wood back and a vibrant, luxurious blue and green upholstery

2. Cincinnati Reds

In an effort to deliver an upscale, modern ballpark experience, FRCH married technology, graphic design, and interior design together to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for Cincinnati Reds’ ticket holders. In the Scout’s Club, fans can view live feeds of the game, connect to player analytics, and take a walk through the history of the franchise. We love how the geometric shapes on the ceiling (which we assume were inspired by a home plate) create a canvas for the signature red accent furniture and wall graphics. The graphic profile of the Sadie Chair’ feels right at home in the space.

3. Microsoft’s Cafe 36

Nestled in the forests of Redmond, Washington, Microsoft’s newest corporate cafe boasts floor to ceiling windows, polished concrete floors, and playfully colorful furniture. Natural light floods the space designed by MG2 who curated an eclectic blend of furniture to create an “approachable industrial” vibe. Sadie Chairs were spec’d in a variety of colors including a custom mint and traffic red with a natural wood seat as shown above. The wood table tops feature the iconic picnic-inspired gingham in an exaggerated scaleand we’re smitten. This is by far one of our favorite corporate cafeteria designs of all time. You can see more photos of the space here.

4. Hungry’s

Hungry’s latest location, designed by Architect Jim Herd, set out to create a “sophisticated and comfortable home-away-from-home-feel” that maintains the brand’s commitment to serving crowd pleasing comfort food at and affordable price. The 12,000 square foot restaurant is three times larger than the original location and features a second story lounge. The Rice Village location showcases killer views of Houston’s skyline and has as a full bar, making it the perfect place to unwind and celebrate. We love how they used two different spec’s for the Sadie Chair. On the main floor, the gloss white frames and honey colored seats and backs really stand out against the wood feature walls, while upstairs in the lounge, they opted for a darker finish on the frame.

Based on looks alone, it’s easy to see why the Sadie Collection has become one of our most popular products. Don’t forget, with over 30 standard metal finishes and 16 standard wood stains, you can really make this collection your own.
