New Communal Tables, Meet the Frankie Tall Tables

Fall in love with the curves and exaggerated proportions of the Frankie Bar Table.

Earlier this year we launched the Frankie dining table, an undeniably cute mixed-material communal table featuring two over-sized U-shaped steel legs. The table, dreamed up by designer Joey Ruiter, celebrates our industrial heritage while embracing our love of contemporary commercial design.

We tasked Ruiter with the challenge of re-imagining the Frankie table to function at both counter and bar height.  We're overjoyed to introduce the new counter height and bar height variations.

Characterized by sturdy columns and sweeping footrest, the Frankie Communal Table collection explores proportion and materiality in relation to design for high use public spaces.

“We love the juxtaposition between material and the form that Frankie represents. The toughness and rigidity associated with both solid wood and steel have been softened by sweeping curves and chunky tubes,” said Dean Jeffery, director of marketing

Most notably, Frankie features a steel base with exaggerated proportions and a noticeable overall roundness. Details like a wraparound footrest (a nod to the U-shaped legs on the dining model) and solid wood tops (available in three standard shapes) amplify the softer aesthetic and offer a nice counterpoint to our more traditional communal tables like our Brady and Dylan.

"The large scale and proportions of the base are typically used in the automotive and architectural industries. It’s a scale I’m familiar with, but hasn’t been widely used in the furniture world. It creates a product that feels unexpected or even a bit weird, but to me, that weirdness feels fun,” says Ruiter.

The table is available in both counter height (36") and bar height (42") variations. Table tops are available in 30" or 36" widths and 72", 84", and 94" lengths.

Frankie tables are manufactured and finished in the United States, available with a standard 4-6 week lead time. The entire collection has been tested to meet and exceed ANSI/BIFMA testing standards and is backed by a 10-year structural warranty.
